Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) or Bandung Insitute of Technology, was founded on March 2, 1959. The present ITB main campus is the site of earlier engineering schools in Indonesia. The ITB main campus, to the north of the town center of Bandung, and its other campuses, cover a total area of 770,000 square meters. Bandung is a city with a population of approximately one and a half million, which lies in the mountainous area of West Java, at an altitude of 770 meters. 

On July 3, 2020, ITB celebrates its 100th year anniversary. Now ITB has graduated 120.000 alumni who have significant roles in developing the country. ITB now has 12 Faculties/Schools, 128 study programs, 111 research groups, 25 centers, 7 research centers, and 7 centers of excellence. Currently, ITB has more than 26 thousand active students, 1.510 academic staff, and 195 professors.

ITB International Undergraduate Program is open to both Indonesian and foreign nationals. All academic activities are given in English as the primary language of instruction. In its part, the program offers international mobility activities with ITB’s overseas partner universities, either on double degree programs or as an exchange program for one or two semesters. Admission to ITB International Undergraduate Program is based on desk evaluation. Applicants must register and submit all required documents through an online system.

As for ITB International Graduate Program, it is worth noting that the program is open only for foreign nationals and does not admit Indonesian nationals.

We recommend you ask the administrator of each program about all the details since not all important information is available online in English. Do call or text or email the admin about your questions or inquiries. The preferred tool is using WhatsApp, social media account, and email. Be prepared to have an admin who is not fluent in English, so speak slowly and clearly. Combine the communication with written format to avoid misunderstanding as far as you can.

Bear in mind that all Indonesian higher education institutions are able to accept international students in programs outside the ones labeled as "international programs." That means that those regular programs are held in Indonesian language, and all international students should have sufficient language capability to enter the program.
