Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is one of the best universities in Indonesia, as according to the assessment by Indonesia’s Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti), as well as included in the Top 10 Universities in Indonesia on both the QS World University Ranking and the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking.

Computer Science Doctoral Program, Department of Informatics, FEIC-ITS, was established in 2018. Postgraduate Department of Informatics – ITS, supported by 17 teaching staff (Doctoral) with 5 professors. There are 8 Subject Groups. Postgraduate Department of Informatics – ITS Graduates are spread out at home and abroad with professions as college lecturers, researchers, industry practitioners, IT developers, government employees, and others.

Computer Science Doctoral Program is carried out within 6 semesters (3 years), with a total credit load of 42 credits. The academic calendar for the first semester starts in early September, while the second semester starts in early February and ends in June. Registration is done in odd semester.

Postgraduate students of the Department of Informatics – ITS consist of both domestic and international students for the Doctoral Program.

The lecture system is full time where 12 credits are the pre-qualification stage (2 semesters) and 28 credits (4 semesters) are the dissertation stage. Students who are accepted get a computer allocation and (in the doctor residency room) as well as being able to conduct research in related research laboratories. 

The first year will focus more on preparing research proposals that will be examined in the doctor program where research methodology and research seminars on student research plans will be filled. Full time obligations must be made during the study period. After passing the qualification exam (doctoral candidate), it is filled with research that is evaluated in each semester’s progress (in the form of seminars and internal presentations). At this stage students are also expected to have successfully had a publication (in international journals / Minimal Scopus) with a status of acceptance (full acceptance), as one of the requirements for graduation from doctoral candidates.
